Most people would agree that 2016 was a very eventful and for some, emotional year. Let’s rewind and take a quick look at some of the horrible things that happened over the last 11 months. For starters, music legends Prince and David Bowie passed away — leaving this world a little more bleak. Then Brexit happened, and things kind of just went down hill from there.

In 2016 we’ve witnessed a Zika outbreak, record breaking temperatures, police shootings, terror attacks, and plenty of other horrendous happenings. It really has been an odd year – the Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead, Vine was shut down, and Harambe was shot.

As if all of that wasn’t enough for the American people, Donald Trump’s presidential win put the final nail in the metaphorical coffin of 2016. Social media went crazy, and people all over the country shared their views on the new president-elect. Though most people were disappointed with the result of the election, some were more than just a little upset.

A handful of celebrities took to Twitter in order to make their disapproval public — via a narrative that was all too familiar. In months leading up to the election, many big players in showbiz made it very clear that they weren’t huge fans of Trump. Some simply endorsed Hillary Clinton, while others swore left and right that they would move to Canada should Trump be elected.

Though most news outlets gave Trump a mere 5% chance at winning the election, the businessman-turned-politician managed to pull ahead and clinch the presidency. He’s set to be sworn in January, and barring any catastrophic collapses of American politics, Trump will take office some time next month.

Now that we’ve established that Donald J. Trump will be the 45th President of the United States, let’s return to the countless celebrities that are supposedly “leaving the country.” as a result. Judging by the sheer amount of entertainers that have claimed to be moving in light of Trump’s unlikely victory, it’s safe to assume that –  “I’m moving to Canada,” was just a cool thing to say and that no one will actually start packing their bags.

Although it’s likely that none of these superstars will actually follow through with their dramatic promise, it’s interesting to see which entertainers said that they would, and how many of them (if any) will actually hop the border. So, without further adieu, let’s take a look at 20 celebrities that promised to do just that.
